Hi All-

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just a few days away!  We are having Thanksgiving here on the farm.  Enjoying a Bronze Breasted Turkey, that we raised.

We are thankful for a lot of things.  Just to name a few; God, family, friends, customers,  our Blue house and the farm!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!  -Jessica

Escaping Mamma Pigs

Hi Everyone!

Jon and I were out doing the evening chores a few weeks ago. We were using the 4×4, Jon was driving. Out of no where a big black animal was running to the right of me. We didn’t know what is was at first, so Jon was trying to run it over. I start yelling it’s a pig, it’s a pig, it’s a pig!!!!

One of our Berkshire Cross Mamma Pigs, we call her White Face. See her picture below! Her sister Stripe Face also got out. We were lucky to get them back into a pen, just not their pen. The following day we were able to get them into the correct pen!

Our 1st Batch of Baby Chicks

Did you know that day old chicks come in the mail? Yes, you read that correctly! They hatch, then they are mailed using USPS overnight. The next morning the Post Master calls to let us know that they are here and to come pick them up.

The yellow chicks are Cornish Cross/Broiler-Meat Chickens. We ordered 100 of them. They will be ready for purchase at the end of May. The black chicks are Barred Rock Hens. They should start laying eggs between 16-20 weeks old.

Auntie Amanda bought this chocolate chicken for Ellie. When we broke it open, it had candy coated chocolates inside. It tasted good! Thank you Auntie Amanda!!

Spring is here and there are new arrivals on the farm! We have one and a half week old piglets. There are five males and two females. This was the first farrowing for two of our sows.

Call to schedule a farm tour, to see the animals.
